Die Stadt Northeim hat entschieden: Das von der B\u00fcrgerinitiative\u00a0\u201ePro Leinetal \u2013 Natur statt mehr Beton\u201c<\/strong>eingereichte B\u00fcrgerbegehren zur Verhinderung eines neuen Gewerbegebiets im Westen der Stadt ist rechtlich\u00a0nicht zul\u00e4ssig<\/strong>. Das stellte der Verwaltungsausschuss am\u00a029. September 2025\u00a0fest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grundlage der Entscheidung ist\u00a0\u00a7 32 Absatz 2 des Nieders\u00e4chsischen Kommunalverfassungsgesetzes (NKomVG). Danach k\u00f6nnen B\u00fcrgerbegehren in Niedersachsen keine Bauleitpl\u00e4ne verhindern \u2013 sie sind in diesem Themenbereich grunds\u00e4tzlich ausgeschlossen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austausch im Rathaus: Stadt und Initiative im Gespr\u00e4ch<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Trotz der rechtlichen H\u00fcrde setzen Stadtverwaltung, Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung\u00a0N<\/strong>OM WMT\u00a0und die B\u00fcrgerinitiative ihren\u00a0Dialog fort. Im Rathaus fand k\u00fcrzlich ein gemeinsames Treffen statt, bei dem offene Fragen, rechtliche Hintergr\u00fcnde und die unterschiedlichen Positionen besprochen wurden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Stadt erl\u00e4uterten, warum das B\u00fcrgerbegehren formal unzul\u00e4ssig ist \u2013 zeigten aber zugleich auf,\u00a0wie B\u00fcrgerinnen und B\u00fcrger sich weiterhin einbringen k\u00f6nnen. Im laufenden\u00a0Bauleitplanverfahrenwerden die Planunterlagen \u00f6ffentlich ausgelegt. In dieser Phase hat jede und jeder die M\u00f6glichkeit,\u00a0Anmerkungen, Einw\u00e4nde oder Bedenken\u00a0vorzubringen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chancen f\u00fcr Wirtschaft und Arbeitspl\u00e4tze<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Die Stadt Northeim sieht in der geplanten Ansiedlung eines\u00a0Logistikzentrums\u00a0in Autobahnn\u00e4he gro\u00dfe\u00a0wirtschaftliche Potenziale. Erwartet werden neue\u00a0Arbeits- und Ausbildungspl\u00e4tze, zus\u00e4tzliche\u00a0Gewerbesteuereinnahmen\u00a0und eine St\u00e4rkung des\u00a0Wirtschaftsstandorts Northeim. Die B\u00fcrgerinitiative hingegen \u2013 vertreten durch\u00a0Jan Lachnit\u00a0und\u00a0Inga Hartmann\u00a0\u2013 m\u00f6chte die Versiegelung weiterer Fl\u00e4chen verhindern und setzt sich f\u00fcr den Erhalt der\u00a0bisherigen Ackerfl\u00e4che\u00a0im Leinetal ein. Sie bef\u00fcrchtet negative Auswirkungen auf Natur, Landschaftsbild und lokale Landwirtschaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gemeinsam f\u00fcr Transparenz und Verst\u00e4ndigung<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Alle Beteiligten betonten die\u00a0sachliche und respektvolle Atmosph\u00e4re\u00a0des Treffens. Man sei sich einig, dass der\u00a0gegenseitige Austausch\u00a0entscheidend sei, um das komplexe Thema umfassend zu beleuchten \u2013 wirtschaftlich, \u00f6kologisch und gesellschaftlich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Stadt Northeim, die Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung\u00a0NOM WMT\u00a0und die B\u00fcrgerinitiative\u00a0\u201ePro Leinetal \u2013 Natur statt mehr Beton\u201c\u00a0erkl\u00e4rten gemeinsam, den begonnenen\u00a0Dialog fortzuf\u00fchren. Regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Treffen sollen sicherstellen, dass\u00a0alle relevanten Aspekte offen diskutiert\u00a0und transparent kommuniziert werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wie geht es weiter?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Auch wenn das B\u00fcrgerbegehren formal nicht zul\u00e4ssig ist, bleibt das Thema in Northeim pr\u00e4sent. Der Konflikt zwischen\u00a0wirtschaftlicher Entwicklung\u00a0und\u00a0Naturschutz\u00a0zeigt, wie wichtig\u00a0Transparenz, Beteiligung und Dialog\u00a0bei kommunalen Gro\u00dfprojekten sind. Beide Seiten wollen nun weiter im Gespr\u00e4ch bleiben \u2013 ein positives Signal f\u00fcr die demokratische Kultur in der Stadt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
