Mai ist \u201eAfrica Day\u201c oder auch \u201eAfrican Liberation Day\u201c, der Tag an dem 1963 die Organisation f\u00fcr Afrikanische Einheit gegr\u00fcndet wurde. In vielen afrikanischen L\u00e4ndern ist der 25.5. ein Gedenktag oder sogar ein Feiertag. In Deutschland hatten zahlreiche schwarze Organisationen und Gruppen f\u00fcr dieses Wochenende zu Kundgebungen und Demonstrationen aufgerufen. Anlass war nicht nur der Africa Day, sondern auch der erste Jahrestag der Ermordung von George Floyd und der zehnte Jahrestag der T\u00f6tung der Deutsch-Nigerianerin Christy Schwundeck durch eine Polizistin. In G\u00f6ttingen trafen sich am Samstag ca. 200 Menschen, um gegen strukturellen und allt\u00e4glichen Rassismus und Diskriminierung zu demonstrieren. In Redebeitr\u00e4gen und in einem in drei Sprachen vorgelesenen \u201eBrief an Eltern und Verwandte\u201c wurde auf den t\u00e4glichen Kampf gegen Vorurteile hingewiesen, den Menschen mit schwarzer Hautfarbe in Deutschland f\u00fchren m\u00fcssen. Aber auch die Situation auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent wurde angesprochen. Auch wenn Afrika vom Kolonialismus alter Pr\u00e4gung befreit sei, sei die Situation in vielen L\u00e4ndern immer noch von Ausbeutung und Unterdr\u00fcckung gepr\u00e4gt. Von Freiheit k\u00f6nne l\u00e4ngst nicht die Rede sein.
